1933 Silent Coup of Treko

Silent Night, Blood in the Duma
Part 1 Introduction.

A shot goes ringing in the air, military trucks speed by across Kurakchevsk, speeding by towards the old town, many residents who were sleeping at the time, looking over the window, were scared and immediately shut their windows. Officers yell in Trekkish "Storm the Duma, kill the traitors!". But this isn't any regular government takeover, or any type of mutiny. No, this is the silent night of Treko, and the downfall of the democratic values of the old Republic, when the soldiers arrive, they drag out members of the Duma, some were immediately shot, others were taken into custody, those fortunate enough to make a run for it, did so and fled the city and the country entirely, taking their families with them, and rushing for the Pomerelian border.

But one thing stands, the Presidential palace remains untouched, in fact, the coup and mutineers were standing only a block away from the entry to the unguarded Presidential palace. Then a messanger is sent from the mutineers, the messanger wears a red band over his white uniform, wearing the trademark feathered helmet, a custom of the traditional Trekkish military uniform in the 1930s, the messanger appears to be a high ranking officer within the midst of the conspirators, he enters one of the trucks reserved for him, and dashes toward the palace.

The young officer, a 34 year old man named Irev Konev, the grandfather of the future President, Igor Konev, was the officer which carries a message for the President, he was followed by his loyal deputy and adjutant, and accompanied by 10 of his men, all part of the conspiracy, 30 minutes later, they reach the palace, it should also be noted, the time was dark, it was still morning, and the President was asleep. Then lights, vehicle lights, a secretary knocks on the president's bed chamber, President Samsonov, is awoken, stretching up from his bedroom, in his pajamas and walking straight down into the palace rotunda on to the reception area.

He meets with the disgruntled officer and his men, but instead of receiving the same treatment as the conspirators had gave to the members of the Duma, the men instead saluted the President, as the officer announces, "The conspiracy is complete, my men has arrested the traitors of the Duma, our Republic is secure, sir!". The President amused, composed himself from the joy and adrenaline rush and replied "Good man, excellent, by end of day, you will be a General, and we will be known for the people who have saved our Republic, restored order and trust back to the system!"

The conspiracy wasn't a regular conspiracy, this would be a fake coup, organised by the highest echelon of government, and to destroy any Opposition that the executive branch in Treko might have. This is the story of the 1933 Fake Coup of Treko, also known as the Silent Night in Kurakchevsk, the story of the destruction of democratic values in Treko until her revival in a few decades later.
